Eldora Nights for Sunshine after Plymouth Runner-Up Run

Lonnie Wheatley, INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 11, 2018) – Tyler Courtney added another podium finish in Amsoil USAC National Sprint Car competition by racing to a runner-up finish in last Saturday night’s event at Indiana’s Plymouth Speedway.

“Sunshine” will look to add to not only the podium count but the win count as well as he and the Clauson-Marshall-Newman Racing Priority Aviation No. 7bc Sprint Car team take in the USAC Sprint Car portion of this weekend’s #letsracetwo double at Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway.

After timing in fourth at Plymouth Speedway last Saturday, Courtney climbed from fifth to second in heat race action to earn the third starting position in the feature grid.

Courtney gunned into the lead by the fourth round and held a commanding lead when a caution flew at the midway point. Courtney fell back to third soon after but rallied back on the final round to post a runner-up finish.

The second-place run was his third podium finish in six USAC Sprint Car events, keeping him a close third in points going into this weekend’s pair of events at Eldora Speedway.

“Sunshine” finished among the top ten in both nights of USAC action at last year’s #letsracetwo double with finishes of ninth and fifth before finishing out the USAC Silver Crown season later in the year with his first series win atop the high-speed Eldora oval.

2018 Quick Stats: 17 races, 3 wins, 9 top-fives, 10 top-tens.
