Sprint Cars and Silver Crown for Sunshine this Week

Lonnie Wheatley, INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 23, 2018) – Tyler Courtney is back in action this week with a pair of events after last weekend’s USAC Sprint Car double fell victim to unexpected rain at Granite City, IL, and Pevely, MO.

“Sunshine” will be in action aboard the Clauson-Marshall-Newman Racing Priority Aviation No. 7bc Sprint Car on Wednesday night at the Terre Haute Action Track before taking the wheel of Hans Leins’ No. 97 USAC Silver Crown car at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Courtney enters Wednesday’s Hulman Classic at the Terre Haute Action Track in the thick of the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car championship battle. Courtney sits third in points with a pair of wins and a pair of runner-up finishes through the opening eight rounds of competition this season.

Running the dirt portion of the USAC Silver Crown schedule, Thursday’s Hoosier Hundred at the Indiana State Fairgrounds will be Sunshine’s second outing of the year after earning the pole position at Terre Haute last month and then rallying from the tail of the field after an early mishap to claim a podium finish of third.

Overall, Courtney has already posted three wins this season with ten top-five runs in just 19 starts.

2018 Quick Stats: 19 races, 3 wins, 10 top-fives, 12 top-tens.

Up Next: USAC National Sprint Cars “Hulman Classic” at The Terre Haute Action Track on Wednesday and USAC Silver Crown “Hoosier Hundred” at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Thursday. Those unable to catch the action live can watch via PPV at https://www.speedshifttv.com/.
